Our compliance program is designed to ensure that our clients are observing the laws related to medical billing, specifically those put forth by Medicare and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). An effective compliance program includes using auditing and monitoring systems to detect noncompliant conduct and establishing a system to report such conduct without fear of retribution. Some items for monitoring include: billing for services not represented as claims, double billing, failure to use the proper coding modifiers, billing for services not covered by the payer, discounts and professional courtesy, and many others.
